xalan extension functions

XalanC provides the possibility for an application to add specialised functionality through socalled "Extension Functions". This section describes a number of these which Timian provides.

summary

Timians XalanC extensions function are written in C++, are made available through XPath expressions, and can be called whereever XPath expressions are accepted in XSLT.

scope

other extension functions?

For the moment, Timian does not install any of the other extension functions that comes with Xalan. There is no particular reason for not doing so, except to reduce complexity.

If you're writing your own XSLT for an output format and find that you're missing e.g. some of the EXSLT functions, let me know. I would be perfectly happy to include those in the build
